Grilled Elk Steaks with Garlic Herb Butter

Ingredients:

  • 4 elk steaks (1-1.5 inches thick)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Season elk steaks with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil.

  3. Grill steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.

  4. While the steaks grill, mix butter, garlic, and herbs in a small bowl.

  5. Once the steaks are done, top each one with a generous dollop of the garlic herb butter.

  6. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
